New Track Get Away by IIIZ feat SEN DOG — for Fans of Arcade Fire

IIIZ (pronounced “eyes”) from the Coachella Valley in Palm Desert, California are not afraid to take risks with their sound and music — charting new territory both on the alternative music scene and also in EDM.

The lead singer Ison brings a deep melodic timbre to the songs, reminding fans of Depeche Mode.

The co-lead singer Mari Brossfield adds an attractive feminine touch to the global melodic sounds.

The band recently recorded with Sen Dog of Cypress Hill and will begin playing live shows around the United States and Canada in early 2016.

The new album was produced by Ronnie King (2pac, Pennywise) Ditch (rap artist worked with Shock G, Jurassic 5  and others), and Alvin Taylor (Fleetwood Mac, Little Richard.)

We have been listening to “Get Away” (featuring Sen Dog of Cypress Hill) taken from the self-titled album :

The scattering flocks of percussive rhythms —  and an aural landscape dotted with crucifixion-sharp dry-thorns — would lead you to expect the voices here might be powderhorn dry and irritable … but they are lively and even fruity (though increasingly dejected.)

This is an immensely satisfying achievement —  combining synth-soul elegance, the dark gloominess of gothic rock, the bleak introspection of darkwave and also the joy of cabaret theatre.
