COAST TO COAST is a six-piece post-hardcore/pop-punk band from Nagoya, Japan.
The six members: Brent , Tomo , Matty , Yuichi and Lee come from different backgrounds, they speak different languages, and they have had different experiences to this point in their lives. Despite all that — they have found common ground in music.
2015 saw the release of their debut EP “Lessons Learned” — and they toured Japan last summer to support that release.
Now they issue new single Amiglia.
We had a listen:
A tangled-up lone guitar sings in the early stages. Then a patch of febrile effervescent sounds calls in the lead voice.
This is articulated, mellow and opportune as it sits besides a vibrant bass.
The concordant song structure is admirably complicated and fully convincing.
Yes, this is an extraordinarily clever and compelling piece of work from a band who are clearly going somewhere. Fast.
