GIDEON’S ARMY is a New York-based yet southern-infused rock collective influenced by the likes of Tom Petty that boasts the Renaissance talent of lead-man Rob Bray on guitar and vocals.
Their next full-length album King of the League will be released May 27th
It was recorded with Anthony Gallo (Bon Jovi, John Legend, Yeasayer) at Virtue and Vice in Brooklyn.
We had a listen to the new single “Red Lips” taken from the album –
A solemn procession of keys attends the dignified voice as it looks back — perhaps in shy hesitation…
Whether this is a song of abandonment, loneliness or a joyful nostalgia-trip is left an open question.
Either way, it is sincere and melancholic with a richly smooth silt-bottom voice and sparkling gluey mucilage.
