AVAKHAN are a female-fronted Swedish electro trio, Ava, Kristoffer and Joakim with the histrionic headrush of Florence And The Machine and the clenched indie atmosphere of someone like Sky Ferreira or Marina And The Diamonds.

Their music draws on the saddening gloom of the late 1990s – in other words, treacly but subdued pop statements with a post-modern edge.
Now they release “Just Let Go Just Let Go” we had a listen:
Missing the sounds of 80’s Erasure?
You know, that cheesy tinkle-pop that inveigles its way into your brain and makes your feet tippity-tap along… Yet is mysteriously deep and meaningful too?
Well, in that case you will love this. The vocal ain’t Andy Bell though… Ava is just as enchanting, it’s true – but her voice is kittenish and slightly insecure. Sultry, nasally and slightly cold. In fact, if you can possibly imagine England’s CILLA singing along to Vince Clarke‘s keyboard majesty you wouldn’t be far from the AVAKHAN sound.
This is exciting and sentimental, with just the right amount of shimmer.
Just Let Go will be released on 14th October 2016
