What we need right now is an alternative rock band that combines post-hardcore and stoner elements with humour and a tad of dance-floor energy plus sophisticated rhythm-gymnastics.
Meet THEY’RE COMING TO GET YOU BARBARA a trio from Liverpool. “A dancing kind of band.”
They release their EP “Nothing Changes” this month.
We had a listen:
“The Longest Wait” is a soaring thing with wings and ripples. Quite light, with perfectly rendered vocals and sophisticated synth elements.
Rockers will like the drummery and the chunks of guitar, while groovers will enjoy the dance-floor rhythms.
“Insurrection” sparkles too. Here the guitar parts are more prominent and zithers of synth help create a vortex of underlying emotions for the high-passion vocals to elaborate themselves upon.
If you fancy riff-rock with superior guitar-licks coupled with the odd ‘roar’ and sumptuous vocal harmonies — where else would you go?
TCTGYB play this Saturday at the O2 Academy Liverpool.
