The wonderful HRH people are launching a new city-based music festival in 2018 — HRH Vikings
1st & 2nd December 2018 at O2 Academy, Sheffield

So expect a Norse celebration of song, communion and erudition in the City of Steel.
“We’ve been threatening to do this for some time now,” says the Jarl-man-in-Chief Jonni Davis, “We just needed the right bands in Cycle, and by all the Gods in Asgard we’ve nailed them high!”
The Vikings of HRH will be an intoxicating mix of five metal sub-genres: Battle, Nordic, Pagan, Black, & Death.
Anticipate much heroic valiance and other unheralded mayhem while the tribes go on the ransack…
HRH Vikings Hotels will be on the doorstep, ensuring that the tribes are housed and watered in comfort…
The inaugural line-up is impressive with headliner TURISAS already announced. “Finland’s finest metal export” and will bring their stirring battle metal to HRH Vikings.
Danish folk metal band Svartsot are also well-suited to the Scandinavian heart of HRH. Ereb Altor are famed for their mix of pagan/black metal, and are often compared to Bathory in their most epic and pagan period, whilst Obscurity are a German melodic death/black metal band, with strong Viking metal influences.
Joining the above in the announced line-up so far are : Finsterforst, Waylander, Old Corpse Road, Haerken, Oakenshield, Ravenage, Sellsword, Witan, PKA, Accursed Years, Blood Oath, Mordrake, Isarnos and Gymir.
