The Sweet Kill – pain & confusion…

The LA-based dark-pop synth project (Pete Mills) is an army-of-one as he’s the lead-singer, multi-instrumentalist and producer of his work.

Here, he presents an E.P. that is destined to provoke conversations around the social stigma attached to the disease of addiction and its consequences; of the pain & confusion of losing a loved one to suicide and, more importantly, how to continue after the event.

The E.P. features five original songs plus an homage to Nine Inch Nails Grammy-nominated 1995 track “Hurt”.

Multiplicitous in breadth

Track two “The Girl Who Kissed The World Goodbye” [shared below] explains it all, and is remarkably chipper (given the subject matter.)

In fact this number is more like a slice of upbeat 1960s psychedelic rock than a piece of NIИ style razor-sharp, industrial swarf. Having said that though, it’s multiplicitous in breadth and you’ll need to hear it a few times before you can absorb it fully… and also the melodic mantra serves as a fitting testimonial.

Love & Death by THE SWEET KILL is out today, 3 May 2019
