Yesterday evening we popped in to the truly lovely Lafayette, London, to see the the multi-award-winning singing ‘n’ songwriting Bristol bluethroat ELLES BAILEY performing alongside Jamie Lawson (first live performance in 4 years), Henry Grace, and Blaine Harrison, for a special one-off charity show in aid of Help Musicians and Music Minds Matter.
Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, Music Minds Matter is Help Musicians’ dedicated mental health support line + service for the whole UK music community.
For those who work in music and are struggling to cope, or know someone who is, they can talk to Music Minds Matter.
Elles’ songs are profound and thought-provoking, and many deliver powerful messages of redemption and hope. At this classy venue, Elles was accompanied by Ash Tucker on acoustic guitar and wearing a shimmery black minidress and, ofcourse, came to the stage outfitted in simply sensational sequined Nashville cowboy boots. Her voice held the usual cloudiness and misty chalkiness that audiences all-over-the-world go absolutely mad for.
At the Lafayette the infectiously inspirational Shining in the Half Light song, ‘The Game‘ was top-flight cheerful and a goodnatured reminder that even when we seem to be stepping forever backwards, the reality is frequently a lot more encouraging than we might expect!
Special thanks goes to Henry Grace Music for organising such a memorable night!
Help Musicians is the working name of the Musicians Benevolent Fund.
