Southern roots rockers ROBERT JON & THE WRECK have just released “Dragging Me Down,” the second single taken from their thrilling outpouring of creativity, the new album: Red Moon Rising.
We think their sounds have the curative power to repair all life’s wounds.
We have described their music as “stout-hearted, possessing exceptional musicianship […] and with abounding strength within every note and phrase...”
With Robert Jon Burrison on lead vox + guitar, Andrew Espantman on drums + vox , Henry James Schneekluth on lead guitar + vox, Warren Murrel on bass, and the recent addition of Jake Abernathie on keys, there is absolutely no denying this band’s direct and unparalleled artistic chemistry.
“Dragging Me Down” is a “bonafide, heavy hitting riff-rock anthem,” according to Henry James, and we have to agree! Check the video, shared below.
Apparently, the song underwent several revisions before the renowned producer Kevin Shirley guided it towards its ultimate and very impressive form. Recorded at Santa Monica’s much-celebrated Village, it tells of a disastrous one-night stand with the emotion underscored by hammering drums, vibrant guitars, and a powerful vocal performance that urges the listener to particpate in the drama!
