Guitar titans JOE SATRIANI, ERIC JOHNSON and STEVE VAI — the original line-up behind the G3 touring concept — who returned to the road in 2024 for a series of sold-out concerts in the U.S.A., have released a new track from their stunning G3 REUNION LIVE album, “G3: Born to Be Wild“, their own take on Steppenwolf’s 1968 “heavy metal thunder” proto-metal biker anthem.
Although the G3 version of Born to Be Wild has more sophisticated chord progressions, less diesel chug, and possibly less smokey growliness than its predecessor, it still has the push, the endurance, and the open-air adventurous spirit of the original. Moving!
