HOLLOW SOULS Bad Things feat. Chris Tapp

British virtuoso blues-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter KRIS BARRAS’ new blues-rock project HOLLOW SOULS with his KBB vocalist Phoebe Jane, and multi-genre producer keyboard conjurer Josiah J Manning have released a new single “Bad Things” featuring Chris Tapp from the Kentucky duo The Cold Stares.

Tapp’s voice grizzles like a grackle on a grill plate as the song expands in emotional grandeur with Phoebe Jane’s wonderfully enlarging chorus, set against a rising and relentless blues guitar riff and accompanying salty rhythms. (See the video, below.)

a work of high drama and passionate elegy, of suffering, of forgiveness, and of salvation…

Raw Ramp

The song expresses a deep and unsettling worry that a person might not be as morally upright as they want to be with a lover, and so they beg redemption before dragging their lover down.

Thus, the song is about pleading for absolution prior to perpetrating an imagined sin. Consequently, it is a work of high drama and passionate elegy, of suffering, of forgiveness, and of salvation; with immensely successful guitar play and stunning vocal performance. Breathtaking!
