The award-winning British roots-blues band WHEN RIVERS MEET, known for their toe-tapping rhythms, acoustic jangle, hip-grinding swing, and their super-exploratory verse structures, will release their new album, “Rhythm Rust and Static” on June 19th 2026.
The album is available for pre-order now here: https://shop.whenriversmeet.co.uk/collections/rhythm-rust-static
Grace Bond (vocals, mandolin, violin) and Aaron Bond (vocals, guitar) formed their independent duo in 2019 and have rapidly become a compelling force in British blues and homespun Americana.
The band’s live performances, marked by superb musicianship and energetic stage presence, are always filled with zeal, passion, and a fiery spirit. Check out the tour poster (below) for a date near you!
Their newest single taken from the album is the highly charged anthem,“Caught In The Middle” (video shared below.)
“Caught In The Middle is about being pulled between knowing you should walk away from something and still feeling drawn back to it” explains Grace.
“It sits right in that tension between your head and your heart. Part of you knows the danger but another part keeps moving towards it anyway…
“The song leans into that restless feeling of being stuck between two choices and not quite knowing which way you’re going to fall…
… [the song] asks the uncomfortable questions and debates unsound judgement, against the backdrop of another biting, barbed wire riff…”
“This one is really about that feeling of being pulled in two directions,” adds Aaron. “You tell yourself you’re going to walk away but somehow you end up back there again.”
“Caught In The Middle” is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser, driven by Grace’s engaging voice and Aaron’s crazy sonic contributions, and lush background vocals. With sharp, aggressive guitars, the chorus soars majestically. This song is worth listening to again and again due to its ingeniously perpendicular structure. Those sizzling guitar sounds are fantastic, and the rhythmic structures are truly inventive!
