Hailing from Nashville (by way of Florida), CINEMA STEREO are a high-energy alternative rock band known for their inspirational superprowess and delivering celebratory retro-modern euphoria.
The lineup features multitalented singer/bassist Ian Rayha, kaleidoscopic guitarist Sebastian Borysek, and long-haired drummer Jeffrey D. Lageveen.
We previously described their irrepressible single “So Sorry My Dear” as “a bundle of head-nodding, elasticated-stretchy rhythms, clambering guitars, and a distinct mango-botanical tropical vibe…”
The band has just announced their Paul Moak-produced debut album, 12:34, due October 2nd, 2026. The Grammy-nominated producer has previously worked with Mat Kearney, Third Day, The Blind Boys of Alabama, and Martha Wainwright.
To celebrate the album announcement, the band has released “Expectations,” the fourth single from the forthcoming LP.

“Expectations” is a barbed and sharpened clang of bright axe-metal forcefulness hammered against a smithery anvil of dark, thrusting spikes of sensational rhythm. Yet the swing in this, though punchy, never feels dangerously out of control, while the vocal harmonies are spectrally resplendent. It’s a shimmering piece that calls to mind mid-1980s Ronnie James Dio and the hot rock ‘n’ roll tapestries of 1970s boogie rockers Elf.
Following the release of 12:34, Cinema Stereo will embark on their first full European and UK headline tour (see tour poster below).
