Glasgow alt-rock band The Twilight Sad have already announced a fresh round of live dates for February in support of their forthcoming ‘No One Can Ever Know’ album.
Simple, lyrically evocative songs are rendered transcendent. Bleached, overdriven guitars consistently ride a line between ambient and coruscating, working in tandem with long, tumultuous rhythm sections, and riven with a sense of shocking and ragged sentimentality.
Under the guidance of ‘anti-producer’ Andrew Weatherall the band has experimented with vintage analogue synth to work on the core sounds they wanted, finding inspiration too in the distinctive production style of innovators like Martin Hannett and Conny Plank.
