Texan three-piece Purple have confirmed a new single ‘Target’ and UK dates [see below].
Purple are a 3-piece thunderflash of rock excitement from Beaumont comprising of Taylor on guitar and vocals, Hanna on drums and vocals and Joe on bass guitar.
We had a listen to “Target” :
The coarse riff stamps along like a pedal-powered belt grinder – and the voice of Hanna is chewy, cheeky and beautifully volatile – reminiscent of Chrissy Amphlett (Divinyls) in aptitude.
The super-abrasives on this track are provided by the fuzz guitar and the radial fibres of bass.
This song tapers outwards, towards the end – but the gemstone-cut percussion remains to excite – especially when the electric guitar knife-fishes into view.
