The Edwardian period was a golden age of romantic summer afternoons and incredible scientific breakthroughs.
The Jedwardian period, however, was a dark age of banal winter mornings, inane claptrap and demoralising, totally tedious, retrogression.
Hopefully the Dedwardian period brings us something better. And we will try to ignore frontman Paul Gautrey’s haircut…
Citing influences such as Elvis Presley, The Cramps and the Sex Pistols, the London-based rockabilly / punk quartet – the Dedwardians – have released a new single ‘Love Sick’.

We had a listen:
Fibres of guitar are beaten by a pounding drum and lashed together by electric bass-notes.
The voice is more complex than it first appears. It is not quick-fix and dirty – but rather, it is anxious and slightly aggressive – rationally provocative – and it features a translucent border of pure gold.
The whole piece gleams with quality – as shiny as a ‘55 Les Paul.
Twangy rock ‘n’ roll with harsh voices and witty American kludgemanship – The Dedwardians possess more energy and distinction than you could ever wish for… with knobs on.
