C.A.R is Chloé Raunet with Thorbjorn Kolbrunarson.
Singer Chloé, formerly of the London coldwave band Battant now writes, composes and produces her own material.
We listened to the new song titled ‘Silk’ :
Beautifully vivid key-notes flicker like the rainy lights of the cars mentioned in the opening lines of this languid song.
The voice is quilted and comfortably warm.
This voice is like a cloak of fake fur that surrounds your head — so that you can shut out the world.
The accompanying effects are blurred as tear-drops on the looking-glass… But this is surprisingly anxious and emotionally uplifting.
Slow synth-pop with a comforting voice that brings with it the cold pleasure of sadness.
