Follow the Lion are a Leeds (UK) based alternative rock band who formed in 2013, quickly gaining a strong following thanks to their energetic and infectious live sets.
We have been having an early listen to ‘The Candy and Gravity Motel’ — this will be out in June on Sound House Records:
‘Down The River’ rushes at you with sharp guitars and a tight & burning quality that brings joy to your heart.
The main vocal [Daniel Francis] is slightly down-spirited but the courage it retains deep in its heart gives you such a thrill.
But it’s those sparkling Eastern guitars [Richard Swann] that you will love a long time.
Title track ‘Candy & Gravity’ has some gentle waves of strummed chord and a wallowing pillow of soft guitar shapes.
The peace-filled waltzing pace takes you around the room. And the voice is warm and anxious.
‘Low’ has adroit drums [Danny Jay Barnett] and saucers of shiny pale-lighted guitar that tend to illuminate the background.
The voice overflows like a passionate angel called to dispose of a soul…
