Rochester, New York (US) based Roses & Revolutions are songwriters Alyssa Coco and Matt Merritt who have shared stages with The Head and the Heart, The Lone Bellow and others.
The duo have released a wonderful new song called “Echo” from the forthcoming EP ‘Torch’.
We had a listen:
Alyssa’s voice is opulent in this poignant ballad.
Exploiting a rich purple luminance that is both smoky and dramatic.
The piano that accompanies the vocal has no frills, but is emotionally moving.
As dark string-sounds seem to wrap themsleves around the melody, you become more aware of the impending loneliness. Is this about facing a companionless future?
Or is it about being in tune with one’s own conscience?
Either way, it’s a classy song — with a majestic voice — and it possesses abundant strength even though it faces a life of heartbreak.
