The Ventura, CA based alt-rock quintet Hy Brasil play some unique rock ‘n’ roll powered by an absolute showman and a potent lead singer, Wyatt Hull.
The vocals, along with the intriguing sounds from harpist Xocoyotzin Moraza combined with intense drummery from Andrew Jones (also on synths) exotic bass-play from Shawn Echevarria and enlivening guitar-work from Nikolaus Gonzalez (also works on synths) — are as exotic as they are sparkling.
The band have now released their second single “Tightrope”.

We had a listen:
This begins with latent heat. Like watching a smoking fuse, so we hold our breath…
The voice is black powder and glue and it seems grainy against the shine of the harp.
A hollow electric current passes through the background as if hiding a disturbing secret.
But, although dark in places, this is mostly, a bright rock anthem…
Precisely composed and beautifully presented.
Mysterious, seductive and sensually liberating … This burns so bright…
