The Belgian based trio TRIGGERFINGER — consisting of Ruben Block on vocals & guitar, with Paul Van Bruystegem on bass and Mario Goossens on drums — will be releasing their striking new album titled ‘Colossus’ on 25th August via Mascot Records.
The rock band from Lier, Belgium, formed in 1998.
The band supported the Rolling Stones in Hyde Park in July 2013.
After meeting with Mitchell Froom [The Black Keys, U2, and Pearl Jam] in June 2016, the band set up base in Froom’s home studio in Santa Monica for six weeks to record their fifth studio album.
“This must be the boldest thing we’ve ever done”, says Ruben Block.
“We’ve been fans of Mitchell Froom’s work for a long time, but working with your heroes can be a dangerous thing. Mitchell proved to be comforting and challenging at the same time. He opened so many doors for us, and with ‘Colossus’ he put us on track for the next few years…”
‘Colossus’ will be released on August 25th, and will be Triggerfinger’s first album with new label Mascot Records/Mascot Label Group.
When we listened to new track “Flesh Tight” [shared below] we found it to be a chilling experience.
It’s inky and beautiful with just the right amount of menacing intent set amongst wiry guitars and hot metallic fuzz.
For lovers of Muse.
