The Mercury prize winner (2000) and NME’s Best Solo Artist (2001) indie singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist BADLY DRAWN BOY will be joined by the Russian feminist protest punk rock group Pussy Riot to headline the BYLINE FESTIVAL — 24-27 August, Pippingford Park, East Sussex.
It will be the highly anticipated return of Badly Drawn Boy on his comeback tour. Gough has not performed live for 5 years but is hitting the fests this summer.
The BYLINE FESTIVAL at Pippingford Park offers a unique concoction of intellect, spontaneity and diversity. The organisers boast a carnival of free speech & independent media. Set in Ashdown Forest, it’s only an hour from Central London.
Byline will offer free-thinking revellers an unparalleled opportunity to recapture the spirit of festivals past. Byline feels analogous to the original Woodstock — a seminal moment when people wanted to change the world…
More than 120 music acts are confirmed for BYLINE including The Blow Monkeys – The British new wave band that were the prototype to the glamour of the mid 80s; Plus The Vapors, Rhoda Dakar from the Specials and the Body Snatchers, Tom Hingley frontman for Inspiral Carpets and the girl band with attitude: The Priscillas.
