“De Moe” is the lead track taken from the “Life in the Now” E.P. from MEME DETROIT.

Following 2016’s debut “Live To Love You’ll Love To Live” the Birmingham UK based British/Colombian Latina singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Maria Rodriguez — aka MeMe Detroit — brings her new sound via SoulRock Central Records.
“De Moe” (meaning the tired or the weary in Dutch) is inspired by the negativity that seems to emanate from the human mentality due to the way society has fabricated us for its own purposes. The message behind the song is about how life can be made much better if we change our mindset to find positive outlooks.
With a guttural rumble of rhythms, smithereens of cymbal and jelloid-belly bass-notes, the voice is a smeared-on slurage of anguish. Grab your jeans, flannel jackets and ill-tempered T-shirts … You’ll need them again! Looks like grunge is back…
But hold on! Think of this as having the rumble of grunge undercurrents — if you must — but actually, at heart, this is competent rock ‘n’ roll in it’s purest form.
