The Irish singer-songwriter and ambient art-folk artist RUNAH [Tara May Mollan] (now based in Manchester, England) has announced the release of her debut album titled “Strange” due for release on 5th May 2019 via Beardfire. To celebrate the announcement RUNAH has also released single “Ground” [shared below].
Her song-themes tend to touch upon the choices we make in relation to mental health, the natural world, spirituality, health and lifestyle.
Having formed part of the global Sofar Sounds series and played in various cities internationally, RUNAH has collaborated with various artists: most recently with Florida based producer FKNSYD on her recent 2018 EP “Calcify.” Other international collaborations have included working with the Australian Gold Coast six-piece Fairchild, Melbourne based songwriter Calan Mai and a recent support slot for London based duo Empathy Test.
On “Ground” we find the soft, vascular beauty of her wine-skin voice draped across a disorderly series of rhythms and a delicately scented guitar. This number declares like an ebbing actor at the jaws of death… with dark secrets held ever closer to the heart.
Her ‘Ghosts‘ EP is out on all major platforms. The debut album is due 5th May 2019
