REBECCA DOWNES — Album Due 24th May

Wolverhampton UK award-winning blues star REBECCA DOWNES whose sounds we have described as: “authentic and potent blues … with vocals so inspiring they will open up your heart…” is a strong and independent musician whose recordings always give us “the groovebumps...”

After her successful 2016 studio album “Believe” [reviewed here] Downes has announced the release of her next and third studio album: More Sinner Than Saint — due May 24th via her own label, Mad Hat Records.

With exhilarating new material that continues to move towards rock, Downes has again worked with English producer & mixer Chris Kimsey — most famous for having co-produced The Rolling StonesUndercover and Steel Wheels albums. He helped her select and refine the twelve tracks to achieve what she and co-writer Steve Birkett see as the perfect expression of their current writing.

Alan Nimmo (King King) played guitar on “If I Go To Sleep”

Five of the tracks were mixed by the California based Bill Drescher [Rick Springfield, The Bangles] with the other tracks mixed by Thunder’s Chris Childs.

The studio band included Dan Clark [bass], Lloyd Daker [drums] and Magnum’s Rick Benton [keys] and the multi award winning Alan Nimmo (King King) played guitar on “If I Go To Sleep” while Tony Clarkin [of rock band Magnum] delivers a marvelous solo on “Breathe Out.”
