The magical arrangements by this master musician were largely overlooked outside his own country when he released this album opener recorded in Rio De Janeiro in 1972.

But since then, the composer & arranger has been dutifully respected and admired by new generations of jazz and music lovers around the globe.

The Brazilian master combined elements of Bossa Nova with tight vocals, wah-wah guitars, inventive percussion and rock psychedelia to bring some astonishing jazz-samba tracks to wide audiences. If you are a fan of Frank Zappa, Herbie Hancock or Miles Davis you’re sure to love Verocai.

Caboclo” (the word refers to the the indigenous ethnic peoples of the Amazon) brings untamed nature and playful spontaneity under moderate control and the “Fire In Her Eyes” rendition brings an even more clearheaded and bright example, with fabulous 3-part harmonies that are beautifully complemented by untroubled keys, burbling guitar and zooty bass patterns.

Fire In Her Eyes comprises of sisters Daniella (keys/guitar/vox) and Natasha (drums/vox) Livingstone with best friend Gabrielle Gordon (bass vocals) and they deliver melodious and hypnotizing pop, rock & soul numbers around the country at various venues, festival appearances and through a glorious collection of online videos.
