Bluegrasstone, countryweight rock ‘n’ roll trio THE OUTLAW ORCHESTRA released their 2020 album “Pantomime Villains” on 29th May, last.
Their sounds are as authentic as a slice of homemade apple pie (albeit baked in the “deep south” of England, actually Southampton) and their songs come packed with clever rockabilly rhythms, intricate guitar entanglements, agility of voice, and fluid finesse in musicality.
We thought last year’s twangy confessional album delivered “gratifying darkness and rewarding buzz…” when we reviewed it: Review >> Pantomime Villains
And now the guys bring their new single “Send Some Whiskey Home” delivered with a video (shared below) that was was filmed at 6am on a frosty, autumnal morning in (their) nearby stamping ground of the New Forest.
It’s a charmingly countrified piece, with jangly guitars, wistful slide, pleasantly mellow vocals and a capable drive that motivates (and ingratiates) with buckets of glee-filled mirth.
File under: country-coddled tomfoolery brought with a grin & twinkle — and replete with buttered musicality and deviled intentions.
