The venerable English rock ‘n’ blues guitarist BERNIE MARSDEN will release his brand-new album, titled ‘KINGS’ on 23rd July, 2021.
‘KINGS’ will be the first album of Bernie’s ‘Inspirations Series’. The next album in the Inspirations series will be — ‘CHESS’ — which will be out later this year and will be a praiseful homage to the recordings released of the legendary Chicago-based label.
‘KINGS’ is Bernie’s first solo album in seven years and features ten classic blues songs, originally recorded by the legendary Albert, B.B. & Freddie King with two further Marsden-penned masterpieces — each inspired by the “Three Kings” — and which are bonus tracks on the album.
The seventy-year old blues-guitarist was a founder member of Whitesnake although he got his first professional gig in 1972 with UFO. He played with Glenn Cornick’s Wild Turkey, then Cozy Powell’s Hammer and, after that, with Babe Ruth Since Whitesnake, almost forty years ago, Bernie forged for himself an impressive solo career. Bernie is, indisputably, one of the finest British blues guitarists.
Recently, Bernie partnered with Joe Bonamassa to co-write his hit album, ‘Royal Tea’.
“Underestimate Bernie Marsden at your peril,” warned Bonamassa, “because as a singer, he’ll kick your ass; as a player, he’ll kick your ass; and as a songwriter, he’ll definitely kick your ass!”
