When RAW RAMP first wrote about ORIANTHI the musician was only 24 (born Orianthi Panagaris, Adelaide, 1985) but the Australian guitarist (now based in Los Angeles) had *already* experienced what most aspiring musicians could only dream of…
She had opened for Steve Vai, she had supported Carrie Underwood, traded solos with Carlos Santana, and had shared a stage with Michael Jackson. She was announced as Alice Cooper’s new guitarist to replace Damon Johnson, who went on to join Thin Lizzy.
And on the 50th anniversary of the song “I Got You Babe” Orianthi covered the song (in some style) with Richie Sambora.
Now, the whizz-guitarist delivers her own composition: ‘First Time Blues‘ feat. Joe Bonamassa and it’s a treat for lovers of smokin’ riffs and melodious yet exciting deliveries.
The song ignites the air like hydrochloric lightning with Orianthi’s solo becoming a ripping majesty of electrodynamic vividness that becomes superbly overlapped by Bonamassa’s eloquent ornamentation.
