JESSICA LYNN’s Shame

Fans of country music and broader rock listeners are drawn to JESSICA LYNN‘s rootsy Americana and country crossover tones.

Thanks to her flawless songwriting and unwavering international touring schedule, the New York singer-songwriter has achieved international recognition.

Now, the musician ventures into entirely new ground with a brand-new recording titled “Shame,” a Latin-inspired song that Jessica co-wrote with the multi-award-winning musician & songwriter Rachel Walker Mason, based in the UK.

Broad in scope and with seductive dancing rhythms, Jessica’s mellowest lip-kissing vocal is offered across this warm poblano. The chorus in Shame is emphasised by a burst of brass and a light wash of tingling keys but, at its corazón, this song, though deep & lyrically thoughtful, is more about the fast rotation of the dance, so pull up your fringes and feel the pulse!

My whole career has been centered around being different,” explains Jessica, “Also, around making music that I enjoy making rather than trying to fit into a box.

Growing up, I was heavily inspired by Latin artists and sounds. When I was a child, I wore out Gloria Estefan’s ‘Greatest Hits’ record and Selena’s ‘Dreaming of You’ from practicing my singing and performing to them every day.

I always connected with Selena’s story, having my own family band and because my path has been very similar to hers in many ways.

When I sat down in the co-writing session with Rachel, she had the initial idea, then the song formed incredibly quickly, with us both being so excited about it. I knew it was one I had to release this year!
