Those maverick Nashville rockers THE BLOODY NERVE are wrapping up Act III of their episodic concept album ‘All Blood, No Treasure with Episode 9 ‘Assassin Of Pain’.
The band, which consists of the phenomenally charismatic vocalist Laurie Ann Layne and the equally dynamic singer/guitarist Stacey Blood, have decided that ‘All Blood, No Treasure‘ will be released in phases, act by act, episode by episode, with each new track increasing suspense and maximising intrigue.

“Starting this project out in 2020 we intended for it to move a lot faster” admits Laurie Ann
“Its tempo changes have been challenging but Episode 9 took a bit to really think through. We’ve accumulated more gear for more sounds, we’re just always raising the stakes with ABNT.”
Stacey adds “’Assassin’s pace is emblematic of the production of this record: Up and down, stoic and cathartic. What’s been exciting about this project is that each episode is a bear to start and you think ‘can we really do all of this again?’ But somehow it just all works out.”
With persimmon vocals positioned against a brandied weave of scowling guitars, the modern fok-rock rigadoon ‘Assassin Of Pain’ (video shared below) transports the eager listener from the steps of heaven to the gallows of hell in a vast cinematheque of talent and persuasion.
If you admired Jefferson Starship’s Kantner/Slick approach to hard rock in the mid-1970s or The Dead Weather’s Mosshart/White way dressing up garage blues, you’ll go nuts for this!
