TARJA Walks Alone

TARJA Walks Alone

Finnish heavy metal singer TARJA, known for her time with Nightwish, has released her iconic song “I Walk Alone” a week before her live album “Circus Life” is issued.

The song has been given a stunning new live arrangement, recorded at her spectacular Bucharest Circus Life concert.

Released in 2007 as the debut single from her album My Winter Storm, this powerful anthem of sovereignty, spirit, and status remains a staple of her live performances.

’I Walk Alonewas one of four tracks that I picked from the over 500 demos sent to me by the label for my first album “My Winter Storm…” the Sibelius Academy trained opera singer explained.

I fell in love with it straight away and the chorus really grabbed me. There is a lot of positivity in the track. It is also where I got the idea of calling all my fans and supporters “My Winter Storm.” They have always been there and still are, and despite the title, I do not feel that I walk alone, and I never am because you are always there.

RAW RAMP

Tarja’s unique “in the round” “Circus Life” show, recorded in Bucharest, Romania in January 2020, was unlike any other she’d done before. Two hours of powerful music featuring a set list that spans Tarja’s career, including all of her greatest hits such as “I Walk Alone”, “Until My Last Breath” and “Innocence”, as well as fan favourites like “Victim Of Ritual” and “Demons In You”. The concert showcased her evolution as an artist. Tarja continues to walk alone.

Sixteen accomplished musicians, including her brother Toni, made up the diverse ensemble spanning her career; quite simply, the event was unprecedented. The concert featured new arrangements of all songs, creating a unique experience for both longtime and new Tarja fans and now the recording can be collected (see link below.)

I Walk Alone” is a spangled diamond extravaganza of poetry and sublime opulence; an orchestral wonder that supports a celestial voice filled with ambition, lamentation, and uplifting dignity.
