Dirty Slippers Wide Open - three white men standing by red wall

DIRTY SLIPPERS Wide Open

Hungarian indie-rock band DIRTY SLIPPERS have built their international reputation through their delivery of high-quality and relatable songs, their exciting stage appearances, and a steadfast belief that music can reach far beyond headphones to penetrate the hearts of their audience.

Led by singer, guitarist, and songwriter Lázár Lobó-Szalóky, the band combines British-style guitars, acute melodies, and revealing and transformative choruses.

Their sound has taken shape at London’s legendary Abbey Road Studios, working with iconic producers George Shilling (Oasis, Blur, Primal Scream, Mike Oldfield) and Tim Palmer (U2, Pearl Jam, Bon Jovi). These collaborations connect the band’s exciting individualist songwriting with the perspective of two of the most proficient music-makers on the scene.

“Wide Open” comes as the band prepares for their most ambitious chapter yet: a fourth studio album, scheduled for release in February 2027. The album will feature ten tracks, recorded entirely in English.

“Wide Open” is an uplifting indie-rock anthem about finding the strength to keep going when life feels overwhelming. Written by Lázár, the song grew from personal experiences and the recognition that many others also struggle with the same feelings of depression, isolation, and emotional pressure. At its core, this song’s message is one of solidarity.

Driven by expressive percussion, and with all-encompassing guitars from Lázár, plus an abundant spine of bass laid down by Dominik Felleg, the verse swiftly moves toward a beautifully delivered, hope-filled chorus.

Zizzy slices of guitar and spirited keyboard nudges from Dániel Vikukel bring edge and contemplation into the mix, but the overarching tone of this enormously successful track is one of optimism and resilience.

Alongside their recording and touring career, Dirty Slippers lead Suliturné, a long-running school programme combining live music, personal stories, and honest conversations about drug prevention and the challenges facing young people. The initiative has reached more than 300,000 students across over 800 schools and educational institutions, with a further 260 schools currently on the waiting list.

International Friends of Suliturné include Frank Turner, Billy Lunn (The Subways), Danny O’Reilly (The Coronas), Dregen (Backyard Babies/The Hellacopters), and Ingo (Donots), alongside music industry veterans such as George Shilling, Tim Palmer, Jay Burnett, and David Mackay.
