Rachel Sermanni will be headlining the Union Chapel on 6th February 2014 as part of her forthcoming ‘Everything Changes’ tour. The EP is out 27th January 2014.
Rachel is from the Highlands of Scotland near the Cairngorms National Park.
In 2011 she supported Mumford & Sons at Dingwalls in London – following an impromptu jamming session. She has also toured with Fink, aka Fin Greenall – and has shared stages with Elvis Costello and Rumer.
We watched her ‘Breathe Easy’ video (for the Mahogany blog)
Here’s what we thought:
‘Breathe Easy’ trickles like a sparkling waterfall from Rachel’s lips, the rippling vocals cupped between the nimble-plucked strings.
Rachel’s voice is a creamy smother – a pearly texture – the words magically reflecting back at you. In a certain light they might appear angelic. But the voice always retains authority and strength – like the firm grip of a pastor on the scruff of a lamb.
And if you are not tempted into a blue pool – in the summer rain – after hearing this song – then heaven help you.
Check this out, and find salvation in the warm forgiving waters … this is all about immersion and rebirth …
