Glasgow based electronic-pop boy/girl duo Lilac Pin offers us thrills and chills with their debut song, ‘Easy’.
‘Easy’ has a complicated and intricate accompaniment. With a rat-tailed voice – reminiscent of wide-eyed Kate Bush – this weaves some undulating magic.
Like Bush pieces, the darkness and ostentation is all there. But this song also contains some extremely glamorous strips of dark elegance. With some leftover rock nuggets, and a glimpse of hip-powerful progressive house experimentation.
The wash harmonics are breathtaking and the spectacular cliff-hanging drama of the vocal adds mystery to the overall effect. ‘Easy’ has true strength and skill.
This is pure stunning elegance.
