The Japanese rock band RADWIMPS were formed Kanagawa in 2001.
High-school chums, they developed their band sound after listening to Oasis.
In 2008, the band recorded its first number one single: “Order Made.”
Even though they have experienced a set-back this year (with the news that their drummer, Satoshi Yamaguchi, has to go on an indefinite hiatus due to a chronic disease) the band are still intent on bringing their wild sounds and restless invention to Europe.
The October tour will include their first ever show in Britain. [Dates below]
We have been viewing the video for their new single: JukkyoChuuke:
This is filled with surprising textures and amazing colours.
But, at its heart, there is a constant rhythm that winds around your temples, and rotates like a diamond-cut drill — to gnaw deep into your cortex.
The vocal rapidly pirouettes across the fabric.
And it creates involuntary movements in your joints, and will spread happy smiles across your face.
