Leeds based UK post-punk and 5-piece goth music makers FEHM return with a double A-sided single ‘LAST BREATH / HUMAN AGE’ this October.
The band released their debut EP ‘Circadian Life’ via Art Is Hard last year, winning much praise across the board.
The new tracks, produced by Matt Peel at Nave Studios are the band’s first songs written as a 5-piece.
The new material is a progression for the band in terms of both sound and arrangement. The scenescape conjured by them encapsulates the essence of grim despair, the anxious psychological state, and the citified disintegration of our age.
‘Last Breath’ [shared below] is about employment within a busy hospital and observing the inconclusive fact that in life, it’s only death that promises true release. The goading beat is laced with a twangy liberation and this suggests it’s best to just keep going, though recessed vocals occupy the darker side of one’s thoughts.
‘Last Breath / Human Age’ is released via Fehm’s own imprint ‘Everything Has Meaning’ on October 27th 2017. Fehm are writing and recording their debut album for release in 2018.
With influences way beyond punk, this is for lovers of disturbing new wave.
