ROCK CANDY FUNK PARTY — Groove Cubed News + New Single

The new album by ROCK CANDY FUNK PARTY – Joe Bonamassa (guitars) Tal Bergman (drums) Ron DeJesus (guitars) and Mike Merritt (bass) with Renato Neto on synth – The Groove Cubed – is due out October 20 via Mascot Label Group / Provogue.

RCFP – profoundly splashy…

The band was formed 2009 when Tal Bergman and Ron DeJesus united for their love for funk music and released Groove Vol. 1. After Tal began recording and performing with blues-rock maestro Joe Bonamassa, Bergman invited him to join in. In 2011, Bonamassa officially joined the party.

For a taster, you can watch the video for the first single from the new album, titled ‘Don’t Even Try It’ with the extraordinary voice of Vintage Trouble’s Ty Taylor

It’s a slow and fascinating, whizzy footstepper with profoundly splashy and addictive vocals… it’s a whole bunch of fun.

Their second funkster project, titled ‘Groove is King’ offered the audience “An aural kaleidoscope” with dance and electronica, to rock funk and jazz and everything in between.

When we listened to it, we thought the last album had “more eloquent folds than the drying zone of the Dhobi Ghat outdoors laundry...”

The Groove Cubed was recorded at Tal Bergman Studios in Los Angeles, California and continues to push the musical envelop…

Another guest on the album is Australian singer Mahalia Barnes – who contributes vocals and vocal arrangement to “I Got the Feelin‘” [James Brown]

According to Bergman, this album will “take the listener on journey that explore the use of different styles of music from different eras and hopefully break some rules.”

The RCFP are a considerably-greater-than-your-average-type-band, so expect more hyperventilating booty-rub and plenty more groovy decorative delight from these masters…
