When we saw the Irish/Filipino singer-songwriter TARA FLANAGANA perform live at the Guildford Electric Theatre last year, we thought her dark and cinematic-romantic style reminded us of the glamor and the charming melancholy of Lana Del Rey.

Lately, we’ve been listening to her single “Let Your Guard Down”
It’s a quavering and diffident look at the risks found in a relationship.
The vocal reminds us of Florence Welch: an insecure and shaky moment … followed by a storming flurry of impulses and a state of heightened emotion.
The lyrics are significant, the rhythms are caramelized & intoxicating, and the whole piece has a stimulating impulse. Refreshing.
See her headline show The @BOILEROOM on Friday 13th July
