Having launched its 2019 edition with a tremendously awe-inspiring list of talented artists back in 2018, CAMDEN ROCKS FESTIVAL has today announced the Saturday headliner: The punk/folk singer-songwriter FRANK TURNER.
The Hampshire raised (UK) artist embarked upon an acoustic-based solo career following the split of his post-hardcore band Million Dead, in 2005. Since then Turner has released seven solo albums, three compilations, one split album and five EPs.
Camden Rocks Festival also introduced an additional ninety bands to their bill. These include: Richie Ramone, The Wonder Stuff, The Professionals, Eliza And The Bear, The Dirty Thrills, Queen Bee, Gold Key and Japanese girl garage punksters: Mutant Monsters.
These new additions to the Camden Rocks join an impressive list of talent from rock, indie, alternative, folk and punk, including: Ash, Ratboy, New Model Army, Wheatus, Carl Barat, Ginger Wildheart, Milk Teeth, Pretty Vicious, Raging Speedhorn, Angelic Upstarts, The Virginmarys, The Last Internationale and many more.
Frank Turner says: “I (mis) spent my youth getting the train to London and the tube to Camden as fast as I could, because I knew it was the epicentre of where I wanted to be in life. As an adult I’ve lived in and around Camden, and now I’m at the Camden Rocks Festival. It feels like exactly the right place for me to be, it feels like home. I can’t wait.”
Richie Ramone says: “We are very excited to return to Camden for the coolest festival in my favorite part of London. With all the history this area has to offer, as well as a great weekend of live music, why would you want to be anywhere else. This is one party not to be missed!”
Taking place on Saturday 1stand Sunday 2ndJune 2019, the city-based festival, in its eighth year, boasts over 400 bands in 20 venues across Camden, over two days.
