We first came across the Leicester UK based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist MARTHA BEAN in 2015 when she released her exquisite, ambient-folk single — ‘A Better Man’ that we described as “honey-warm.”

Now, Martha announces a new EP “Here Comes The Snowstorm” due 1st November and she shares an exquisite pop-folk single titled: ‘Along The Lonely’ taken from the recording.
This new song questions the need that lays behind our yearning for relationships. “We all need someone,” says Martha, “And that can be beautiful. But some people just want a ring on their finger…”
The new disc — recorded & engineered at home by multi-instrumentalist Martha herself (she even scored the string parts) was co-produced by Martha’s partner Joel Evans (aka Tiny Eyes), who also helped with percussion, synths and Wurlitzer piano.
The recording also features Joe Manger on drums, Rob Rosa (Maniere des Bohémiens) on violin, Mirka Hoppari on viola and Martha’s father, John, on cello.
On ‘Along The Lonely’ the accompanying sound is chilly, but pulls us in deep with its developing beat. The voice is marshmallow creme and sunflower petals. Generously warm and thoroughly embracing. Some angular drama unfolds at the halfway mark, and here we witness the full cinematic glory of this amazing piece.
