Hornsey, North London UK rock four-piece THE SWAGGER play contemporary acoustic pop-rock with appealing, yet coarse-grained, evocations that tend to unite melodious 60’s style harmonies with classic 90’s Britpop posturing.

Previously, we reported their sounds reminded us of the “KINKS but also BLUR. In other words — slurred, muddy and hypnotically buzzing...”
The new single, titled “Chin Up Boy” (video shared below) has a charming neighborhood attitude…
But it’s also pop-punk in style, in that cheeky ‘n’ homestyle Wheatus / Fountains of Wayne manner.
The snickery vocal isn’t sniffy, it’s proud of its street heritage. And the spreading guitar is like a heavy dose of reminiscence therapy at a nostalgia clinic for the terminally wistful. This is as snappy as a rubber band gun.
