Edinburgh Scotland’s melodic-rock singer-songwriter GRANT KILPATRICK has released his original song, titled “Close To You” out now on all streaming platforms and with a video (shared below) —
It is a rich, widescreen masterpiece with generous rock colors and life-giving energies. Grant’s voice is reminiscent of Peter Gabriel (in his Solsbury Hill phase) and has the same lush drama and haunting psychological lucidity that you discovered in Cameron Crowe’s movie “Vanilla Sky.”
The voice goes from hardened to emollient, then from passionate to forgiving … and the lyrical content is always redemptive: I’m screaming out holy mother […] I’ll let no other lover / Come close to you…
This is a smooth and dignified piece of mid 80s rock styling.
