The award-winning South African blues rock guitarist and singer-songwriter DAN PATLANSKY has released his new single and music video “Hounds Loose” (video shared below) which is the first single to be taken from his highly anticipated new studio album “Shelter Of Bones” due February 25th 2022 via Virgin Music Label and Artist Services.

The new single introduces a tense & stringent guitar riff with a darkening bass root and some frills of cadaverous organ notes that slip incorrigibly around the central theme. Then the finely sculptured chorus bursts forth — an adroit and sincere precautionary dissertation upon selling one’s soul to the devil.
The chorus follows a tonal pattern that is a little redolent of Jessie J’s “Do It like a Dude” (we’re not saying that’s a bad thing, oh no not at all, we’re just saying this chorus hearkens that same rhythmic structure,) — all-in-all this is a well-formed, good-looking and thoroughly listenable number.
Shelter of Bones was recorded over a three-year period from 2019-2021. “The pandemic allowed me to take my time, and really think about how I want the songs to come across,” says Patlansky.
“In many ways I tried to keep the sound from past albums that I’ve become known for in my arrangements and song writing, but definitely took some different turns along the way. I’ve always seen a record as a time capsule of where an artist is in a particular time of their lives.“
