With the approval of Bernie’s widow, Fran Marsden, Conquest Music will issue today 9th May 2025 BERNIE MARSDEN’s fourth outing in his Inspirations series, titled ICONS, released as a 5 track digital EP.
When Marsden teamed with Conquest Music in 2021 his solo album would be “Kings”, a tribute to the three ‘greats’ of electric blues: Albert King, Freddie King and B.B. King. The album cleanly tipped into sleek & dandy guitar, flowing twelve-bar blues, and handsome rhythms. “Kings” was a genuine pleasure… winning new fans of the blues… as well as being very popular with traditionalists.

“Chess” The Whitesnake guitarist’s second solo disc in the planned series he described as his “Inspirations” paid praiseful homage to the recordings released by the legendary Chicago-based label.
And ‘Working Man’ was a monument to Marsden’s perpetual musical inventiveness; it illustrated his mastery in songwriting & recording: an unmatched profiency that continued all the way through to the very end of his creative life.
As expected, Icons reimagines the ground-breaking work of renowned musicians, capturing the pivotal events in the history of blues and rock ‘n’ roll, to deliver songs such as “Shake Your Money Maker”, “Bell Bottom Blues”, and “Purple Haze.”
Purple Haze features empathetic rhythms and a lively tip-your-hat riff. On top of the intuitive guitar articulations, the vocal floats like magic. A superlative blues experience!
