LUKE MORLEY, THUNDER’s guitarist and primary songwriter, has debuted his newest single, ‘Snakeskin Parachute,’ complete with a fresh music video, (shared below.)
The up-tempo track is taken from the musician’s upcoming solo album Walking On Water, due out on August 1st 2025.
Walking On Water is due to be Luke’s third solo album, following last year’s Songs From The Blue Room, which we described as, ‘a magnificent solo undertaking […] delivering deliciously intoxicating melodies…’
Created during Thunder’s current break, while lead singer Danny Bowes recovers from a 2022 stroke, ‘Snakeskin Parachute’ might never have existed, as Luke revealed…
Speaking about the single, he said: “This was a random title I’d written down a few years ago. I liked the bizarre combination of the two words…“
“I had no idea what it meant until I started writing this tune. I guess ‘Snakeskin’ is a metaphor for my musical past and the ‘Parachute’ is me trying to convince myself that if my solo records don’t go down too well, I could always eject and land softly back where I was in my heavy rock comfort zone!“
The song is a rocky garage-pop chug-along with a catchy chorus reminiscent of the punk movement in the late 70’s. Positive vibes and a zippy attitude!
