Her latest single, “Stand Together, Band Together” (video shared below), is an expressive songburst of jubilation that observes and perhaps even embraces the many experiences of daily strife we all must face.

Miss Emily’s voice is captivating. As a songwriter, the artist is full of surprises. Community is her top priority. Her songwriting over two decades has always openly communicated the encounters and endeavours she has faced in her domestic life.

Emily invites her audience to participate, reconcile, and proclaim the truths of life with her, regardless of whether she’s faced domestic violence or she’s endured struggles as a single mother, or she reflects upon how her busy on the road, laying down vital sounds as a universal rock ‘n’ roll minstrel, sometimes conflicts with her family time and personal relations.

Her dedication was tested when she was writing ‘The Medicine’. “I wasn’t in a great head space,” she explained.

Like so many of us, sometimes life brings you down. In one of my darker moments, I wrote an angry song. Then, as I continued prepping […] I realised I didn’t want anger to be a prominent theme… I wanted to celebrate community. I wanted to record music that made people feel better.
