The ingenious free-spirited country-blues grubstalkers WILLE & THE BANDITS — whose galvanic beats, artful swing, parading shimmy, and super-proud vocals we have previously described as, “bluesy nostalgia with dark spirits rising…” — have just released a new single, titled “Trouble Round the Bend” taken from a forthcoming Josiah Manning produced studio album, “Salt Roots” (due 27th Feb 2026.)
The band are William Edwards (lead vocals and guitars) Harry Mackaill (bass), Stevie Watts (Hammond organ) and Zachariah O’Loughlin (drums.)
Wille & The Bandits’ socially conscious lyricism and their musical daring have long been celebrated by music critics and connoisseurs.
a grumbling outburst of vibrancy, a gushing riff, venting vociferation, and an uprising of caustic rhythm…
Wille & The Bandits have toured with Deep Purple, Status Quo, Joe Bonamassa, the Jon Butler Trio and Warren Haynes. They’ve been voted one of the Top Ten bands to see at Glastonbury and they’ve performed at the Isle of Wight festival and the London Olympics.
Speaking about “Trouble Round the Bend” singer Wille Edwards says: “It’s the sound of a band firing on all cylinders. It is heavy because it needs to be. The riffs hit as hard as the reality of sewage being dumped into our seas. That’s why in the video we put ourselves right in it, standing knee-deep in the mess we’re all facing, to show we can’t ignore it any longer.”
“Trouble Round the Bend” (video shared below) is a protest song about the ugly fact that raw sewage, via British home ‘U’ bends, is being discharged into our seas, thus, it features a grumbling outburst of vibrancy, gushing riffs, venting vociferation, and an uprising broil of caustic rhythms.
