The acclaimed Canadian roots rock band THE COMMONERS have released a brand new single titled “Lost in the Highlights,” mixed by Kevin “Caveman” Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Joe Bonamassa, Beth Hart).
“Lost in the Highlights” is the third single to be taken from the band’s forthcoming third studio album, due for release in 2027.

“‘Lost in the Highlights’ captures the battle to stay grounded when life’s noise and momentum are racing ahead faster than you can process,” says The Commoners frontman Chris Medhurst.
“When you’re constantly on the road, charging towards the next milestone, it’s easy to be swept up in the rush, the gloss and the excitement—and lose sight of what keeps you anchored. We wanted the music to cut through that haze, pull us back into focus and help us find solid ground again. It’s an honest snapshot of exactly where we are as a band right now.”
The piece turns into an almost evangelical outpouring of belief, tolerance, and unadulterated spirit…
“Reconnecting with Kevin Shirley on the mix for this track was amazing,” says The Commoners lead guitarist, Ross Hayes Citrrullo.
“Kevin’s mixes have this incredible ability to convey the raw energy of a live band while giving it that massive, larger-than-life rock and roll production.”
Moving in a kindly, obliquely stylistic, cushiony and torrid style, the guitars set up an irrepressible verse that exclaims pleadings and declarations against placards of finely chopped rhythm, impeccable beats, and some elegant slide fancywork. The piece turns into an almost evangelical outpouring of belief, tolerance, and unadulterated spirit.
In November, The Commoners embark on their 12-date “Runnin’ Blind” UK Tour with special guest Spencer Mackenzie. See below for a venue near you.
