Although there is NO summer Cambridge Rock Festival for 2105 — the good folks at CRF have announced their fifth annual Spring Festival.
Artists already announced include:
Brighton (UK) blues-rockers Red Butler
This exciting blues band led by Alex Butler and fronted by Jane Chloe Pearce (they are, right now, supporting Dr Feelgood) — are currently celebrating three years working together as a band. The vocals on their recent ‘Jaywalker’ single taken from the Freedom Bound album fizz with desire and sentiment.
This is more hard-day working blues than vaudevillian — with guitars that have smoke in their veins and a jaunt behind those hidden desires.
Powerful and melodic Manchester (UK) award-winning alt-rockers Mohawk Radio will also be eagerly anticipated.
Mohawk Radio’s sparkling fresh ‘Lifetime Sunshine’ show-cased the astonishingly low ‘n’ pure vocals from Mia Page.
This voice, plus some wonderfully tuneful rock instrumentation from James Gregory, Sean Frankland and David Quinn, mean this is a band you MUST SEE NOW before they go stratospheric!
We also couldn’t miss the funky blues-maestros Northsyde.
Comprising of Lorna Fothergill (on vocals) with Jules Fothergill (on guitar), Ian Mauricio (bass) and Hayden Doyle (drums.) This band treated us to a slinkster-cool set at CRF in 2014. Lorna’s voice is dusty and well-bleached. And it is so painfully soul-filled that it hurts. An incredible experience is super-guaranteed.
And make sure you catch the local country-rock band The Woodleys.
This band is from Cambridge (UK). Their new ‘Little Miss’ EP has just been released.
And this toe-tapping singleis jaunty, fresh and catchy. With flavour-filled vocals and a neat, hooky chorus.
SpringFest is on Friday 29th to Sunday 31st May 2015
